DMX Dip Switch Calculator

Use our online tool to work out the dip switch configuration for your DMX units.

Once you have all of your light fittings connected up to your DMX drivers, you need to assign addresses to the DMX units of the 512 channels available to you.

This is done using the DMX Dip Switches, they can normally be located near the DMX Input and Output sockets.

Generally there will be 10 dip switches for setting the DMX address, these are set using a binary address system. Each switch has a corresponding value and the DMX address is calculated by adding together these values.

If you would like to know more about this, it is covered in more depth in sections 3 and 4 of ‘How Does DMX Work?’
